Please be aware that no matter where you choose to adopt a kitten, you should always, always ask to preview the Breeder's contract. A contract tells a story. If it begins with the items that are important to the safety, well being, and health of the kitten, that is a sign that the breeder cares. If it begins with, "we are not responsible for diseases, i.e. FIP", you should have concerns that there may be a problem, like a red flag warning.
At least ask questions, you may get answers, one wonders if they are from the heart. However, these diseases are not just found with Ragdolls, of course, these are feline diseases that can happen. Please take your kitten to the Vet within 48 hours and seek a professional exam to ascertain kitten/cats health. Stressful situations cause kittens immune systems to be compromised and make them susceptible to many common corona viruses that can turn deadly. Please also be aware that retired breeding Ragdolls may not have a contract, this is why they are adopted out at a reduced fee. Each Cattery handles these things differently.
Also, Ragdolls or any Pedigree cat should be kept indoors, especially by Breeders. Many times, Queens will go into a cycle and if allowed outdoors, may be 'accidently' bred with stray cats, and you will never know for certain if you truly have a pedigree pet, let alone the diseases they may acquire being allowed to roam out of doors. Please be advised that you should choose a Cattery wisely. Many Breeders are ethical, but it is always best to be an educated, kitten savvy consumer.
In addition, yes, you can find Ragdolls in newspapers for sale, cheaper, but one has to ask themselves, where did this kitten come from, why is it so inexpensive, who is the true dam and sire of the kitten, etc. There is a difference between ethical Breeders and those people just looking to make a few dollars and have not educated themselves on the breed of cat they are offering. (Like black market items/look-a-likes) Again, ask many questions and if they are not answered to your satisfaction, do not adopt the kitten.
It is also best to select your pet's future health care with concern. Most states have a government office online, usually a State Board of Licensure, Secretary of State Office, that will list Veterinarians, with up to date license to practice and if they have had any disciplinary action or complaints.
**Pet quality kittens are $800.00 (altered) for traditional colors of blue and seal in patterns of mitted and bicolor; this includes early alteration.
A non-refundable deposit of $200.00 will be necessary to hold your place on our list for a pet quality kitten. Requests for a kitten are placed on a first inquiry basis. We cannot hold a kitten or place you on our definite list without a deposit, as we just have too many requests.** Kittens will have injectable (not nasal) vaccines, health checks, and alteration done by a Massachusetts Licensed Veterinarian, unless otherwise noted to the individual at time of adoption. If we do not feel kitten is ready for alteration, adoption fee will be reduced by $100.00.
**Fees are subject to change secondary to Veterinarian prices for services rendered to kittens. Please check with us at adoption process time if anything changes**
Unfortunately, we do not accept personal checks as of 1/1/2007 for balance on kitten at pick up time. Also, we do not ship (unless special arrangements are made).
Visits to our Cattery are arranged by appointment.
All of our adopted kittens will go home with a gift basket, which may be given to you at your first visit when deposit placed. Our contract also contains a genetic health guarantee, replacement kitten up to three years, for a genetic anomaly. Our contract is available upon request, for review, before you place a deposit, as we want you to be aware of our expectations. Your kitten is our kitten too.
We also have a do not declaw agreement in our contract, due to the fact that the cat or kitten's bones, that are attached to the claw, are broken off during this procedure. This is another good resource for declawing concerns, see this link... www.stevedalepetworld.com
To declaw, can and does change the overall personally of your cat. We also ask that you not have your cat/kitten given certain vaccinations as stated in our contract. Additionally, it is agreed that your kitten/cat will be kept indoors, Ragdolls are not outdoor cats. Our contract can be emailed to potential adoptive persons, for review of our agreement of adoption, which includes no declawing.
We feed our cats and kittens only the best high protein, no by-product food, with little or no grains. There are many stores you may find them, if you are local to our area please try The Healthy Animal for Premium Cat Food in the local Plymouth County Massachusetts area, please click on the link to visit one of our favorite pet food stores. **However, sometimes kitties/cats do need a fiber in their food if they have a sensitive stomach, always seek your Vets advice for this issues/concerns.

CameoDolls Questionnaire- You may
copy and paste into your email document to answers the questions or email us and we will send you the document.
Our kittens are very special to us. We raise them for three or four
months, and
come to love them dearly. When we place them in a home, it is more like
an
adoption of a family member, than just "buying a pet." All good
breeders feel this way. In an effort to make sure we place the right
kitten in
the right home, we have some questions we like to ask of all the
potential
kitten-buyers. We apologize if some of these questions may seem
intrusive, but
we are dedicated to finding the best possible homes for each of our
kittens.
Please give complete answers, and feel free to ramble on -- the more
information you provide about you, your family, and your lifestyle, the
more
accurately we can determine whether one of our kittens is right for you.
